Individuals
I work with individuals who function well in many areas of their lives, but may feel “stuck” in one or more areas. You may be navigating life transitions, working on relationships with partners or family members, coping with work stress, grieving a loss, or experiencing feelings of sadness, hurt, or worry. Once you realize you would like to feel better, the first step is to reach out for help.

Couples
Some couples come to therapy because they are struggling to manage conflict. Other couples notice they are becoming more distant, missing the closeness they once shared. I use tools from the Gottman Method to help couples manage anger and self-soothe so that they can communicate with each another. I help couples create a relationship where they can express more vulnerable feelings, such as hurt and fear, with each other. This deeper sharing of daily experience creates intimacy in relationships.

Parents
As a parent myself, I understand the overwhelming demands of work and modern-day family life. I enjoy working with new parents who are adjusting to life with a newborn. As a former preschool and elementary teacher, I love helping parents find meaningful ways of connecting with their children, or navigating challenges. Parents of teens often come to therapy wondering how to stay connected to their children as they gain more independence. With all parents, I provide empathy, understanding, and an interest in helping you find practical approaches that will work for your family.
Adolescents
Many adolescents benefit from having a trusted adult they can count on for support through challenging times. Oftentimes, the adolescents I work with are doing well in school and activities, but feel unhappy, anxious, or overwhelmed. I provide compassion and a relationship in which they can express their feelings authentically.
